Guest experience
The guest opens a mobile link from the booking SMS, accepts the AI and biometric disclosures, uploads a selfie, and sees preview options without installing an app or creating an account.
Bella Lookbook turns the booking confirmation SMS into a preview moment. Guests open a tokenized link, consent to photo processing, upload a selfie, generate AI Photos, see Bella's ranked AI Best Look, and send the chosen look plus Best Look explanation to the stylist before the visit.
Add to your salon1. Guest books. The appointment is created in the salon's POS the same way it is today. Bella picks up the booking event over the existing integration.
2. SMS goes out. The standard confirmation SMS includes a tokenized one-use Lookbook link scoped to that guest and that appointment.
3. AI Photos. The guest taps the link, consents to photo processing, uploads a selfie, and reviews tailored color or cut options drawn from the salon's segment library.
4. AI Best Look. Bella ranks the generated looks, explains the best-fit recommendation, and sends the chosen look into the stylist workflow.
AI Photos is the guest-facing image workflow. It uses a tokenized one-use session, explicit photo consent, a selfie upload, and selected salon style options to generate realistic preview images the guest can inspect on their phone.
AI Best Looks is the ranking layer. After previews are generated, Bella selects the strongest look from the options shown, explains why it fits, and keeps the guest's final choice connected to the stylist handoff. Studio can enable the premium Claude best-look pass; other tenants still receive deterministic ranking.
The guest opens a mobile link from the booking SMS, accepts the AI and biometric disclosures, uploads a selfie, and sees preview options without installing an app or creating an account.
The stylist sees the selected look, the Best Look explanation when available, and appointment context before the chair time starts, so consultation begins from a shared picture instead of guesswork.
Owners choose allowed segments such as women color, women cut, men cut, men beard, kids cut with parental consent, and permitted surfaces like post-booking or stylist handoff. Marketing use is an explicit opt-in.
Lookbook logs consent, upload, preview generation, Best Look computation, selection, cost, and retention events so owners can prove what happened for a guest, session, and stylist.
AI Photos turn a booking confirmation into a visual commitment moment. AI Best Looks gives the guest and stylist a recommended direction instead of a pile of inspiration photos.
Guests who see the result are more willing to commit to dimensional color, gloss, or a fuller transformation. Visualizing the upgrade removes the hesitation that usually kills the up-sell at the front desk.
The guest and the stylist arrive at the same picture before the chair time starts. That alignment is the single largest driver of re-do bookings and refund requests that we see across operator data.
Lookbook is a story the salon can tell on Instagram, Google, and at the chair. Guests share their previews on their own, which becomes word-of-mouth that compounds without paid spend.
Bella generates the formula alongside the preview using the salon's brand library, so the stylist starts with a workable starting point. The formula stays editable in the appointment notes — Lookbook is a head start, not a hard rail.
Bella ranks the generated previews and highlights the best-fit look, helping the guest choose confidently and giving the stylist a concise explanation to anchor the consultation.
Owners turn on the segments that match the salon's services: women color, women cut, men cut, men beard. The kids segment is gated behind a parental consent step and stays off by default.
Bella Lookbook is built on consent, retention limits, and clear disclosure. Operators can hand the policy to any guest who asks.
Selfies are processed by OpenAI under their zero-data-retention attestation. Source photos are not used to train any model, and OpenAI does not retain the image after the preview is generated.
Bella Lookbook extracts facial features only to generate the preview. The extracted features and the source selfie are deleted within 24 hours. The guest can request immediate deletion at any time by replying STOP to the SMS.
The Lookbook landing page asks for explicit photo-processing consent before the upload control appears. Consent is recorded with the appointment and is required every session — there is no quiet rollover from a prior visit.
The kids segment is off by default and is gated behind a parental consent gate that requires verification from the booking guardian. Salons that do not want to enable it can leave it disabled and the segment is invisible to guests.
Bella Lookbook honors state biometric privacy regimes, including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). Illinois-resident guests receive the BIPA-specific written disclosure and may opt out of any biometric processing without losing the rest of the booking flow.
Retention windows, sub-processors, and deletion procedures are listed in the Bella privacy policy. Operators and guests can read the current version any time at bella.salon/privacy.
Pairs with any active Bella base tier. No per-stylist seat fee. No surprise per-preview charges at normal salon volume.
"Multi-location salon owners in the early-adopter cohort report that guests show up to color appointments already aligned on the look they want — which shortens consultation time and lifts the per-ticket service mix."
Preview-program feedback, aggregated. Not a named-customer endorsement.
When a guest books, Bella sends a confirmation SMS that includes a tokenized one-use link. The guest opens the link, consents, uploads a selfie, and Bella generates AI Photos for selected salon styles. Bella then computes the AI Best Look, the guest picks a favorite, and the stylist sees the choice in the appointment notes before the visit.
AI Photos are the generated preview images inside Lookbook. They are created only after the guest accepts the photo-processing consent and uploads a selfie into the tokenized session.
AI Best Looks is the Lookbook ranking layer. Bella compares the generated previews, selects the strongest recommendation from the actual options shown, and returns an explanation so the guest and stylist understand the recommendation.
No. Bella Lookbook runs in any modern mobile browser from the tokenized link. There is nothing to install and no account to create. The link expires after the appointment or 7 days, whichever comes first.
Bella Lookbook is a $99 per month add-on per salon. It pairs with any active Bella base tier. There is no per-stylist fee and no per-preview overage on normal salon volume.
Source selfies are deleted within 24 hours of the preview being generated. The chosen preview image is retained only inside the appointment notes for the stylist's reference, and the guest can request deletion at any time.
Photo processing is opt-in per session. The Lookbook landing page asks for explicit consent before the upload starts, and the SMS itself never forces a click. If a guest skips the link, the booking proceeds normally and the stylist sees nothing new.
